What is the OT/PT Paediatric Network?
The OT/PT Paediatric Network is a group of Physiotherapists and Occupational therapists working in the field of paediatrics in the Golden Horseshoe region of Southern Ontario as well as Thunder Bay.
Members work in a wide variety of settings including, hospitals, treatment centres, schools, private clinics, daycares, homes and other agencies providing therapy services to children and young adults.
Membership is also open to physiotherapy and occupational therapy students who have a special interest in paediatrics.
The group provides these students with an excellent opportunity to gather more information about paediatric therapy services and to begin to network with practicing therapists (prior to graduating!).
What does the OT/PT Paediatric Network do?
The group meets to discuss issues pertaining to the delivery of paediatric therapy services.
Each meeting includes an educational session featuring an invited guest.
The topics for the educational sessions are chosen by the committee members.
These sessions provide an excellent opportunity to remain current on treatment trends and techniques, assessment tools and the ever changing health care environment.
The meetings also provide members with the opportunity to network with their colleagues and to give a personal face to agencies and services.
